Ariela sat on the grass, one of four small squares where a fountain and crossing paths could be seen through the middle. She was meditating, harnessing the power of the force and reaching out, touching everything around her.
She had been doing this for hours now, meditating, relaxing herself after the battle and giving herself some more strength to continue through the day without going down a darker route. This state of mind changed however when her uncle tapped her on the shoulder smiling. She was dazed at first, adjusting the sudden change into her surroundings but the peace of the temple made up for that and she was soon relaxed again.
"Yes?" Ariela asked quietly, still dizzy after coming out of her meditation.
"I saw the recording of the dual, you did well..." Her uncle replied, smiling softly at her weakened state.
"But I almost fell again, is it some kind of curse?", "No" He stated, dazed himself and looking up into the sky, "It's a trait which follows through hundreds of generations. We just adapt to it the best we can". Ariela nodded quietly, thinking back to the hundred tales and thousands of battles that had been told to her of her ancestors fighting evil and sometimes falling to that evil themselves.
"Do you know about the Koths?", this made Ariela look again at her uncle, who seemed to be in another trance. "I remember the name from somewhere...", "Well, they are strong Jedi and experience darkness like our own family, infact, we are in a way, related". Ariela was puzzled by this, in a way? how? Her uncle however, seemed to notice her confusion. "The original Koth's had both fallen to the Dark Side but the sister, Rachel, fell free from it's grip and became a Jedi afterwards. She met someone called Jax Aldermar and they had offspring but the children kept Koth in their name. After a few decades, this family had only Koth in their surnames once more and kept the family going, supporting each other how they could, like ours".
Ariela stuttered to ask questions but her mind was blank for a long while. "Infact," her uncle continued "our families have collided several times but each have also continued separately". Her uncle walked off like he had seen someone else he had wished to talk to and this puzzled Ariela too, why tell her this information? She would be damned if she didn't find out.
