This shipyard is so large and productive, that the Republic has to depend on the shipyards of Kamino, Mon Calamari, Fresia to hold up any type of war with the Empire. Kuat itself can almost be considered a Free World due to its own self reliance and the considerable fee it charges the Empire for its ships.
